Tucson Metro Chamber issued the following announcement on June 15

Hughes Federal Credit Union recently received national and global recognition for its marketing efforts. Progress® Sitefinity® named Hughes’ online presence Website of the Year. The Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Marketing & Business Development Council awarded Hughes three Diamond Awards including two prestigious Category’s Best Awards.

“It’s a great honor to be recognized for our marketing efforts,” said Kellie Terhune Neely, Vice President of Marketing at Hughes. “The success of each of these efforts is really driven by Hughes’ mission to serve our members. Combine that with a talented team and you’ve got a recipe for continued success.”

Website of the Year Award

Hughes was recognized with the 2020 Progress Sitefinity Website of the Year Award in the financial services category. Winners worldwide were recognized for their excellence in design, user experience and innovation. HughesFCU.org, implemented by Americaneagle.com, was a complete overhaul of the Credit Union’s previous website.

“Our new website was designed to provide a fast and robust user experience on any device. We integrated multiple systems to enable account and loan applications, dynamic rate controls, and provide a platform for future innovation,” Kerry Graham, Digital and Creative Marketing Manager, said. “In addition, Sitefinity’s multilingual capability allowed us to create a Spanish version of the website for our diverse member demographic.”

Progress (NASDAQ: PRGS) is the leading provider of application development and digital experience technologies.

CUNA Diamond Awards

CUNA Diamond Awards recognize outstanding marketing and business development in the credit union industry. Hughes has won Diamond Awards for 11 consecutive years including two Category’s Best Awards in 2020.

With 1,290 total entries in the competition, Hughes was awarded the prestigious Category’s Best Awards in the segmented marketing category for its Hispanic initiatives, and for the point of sale and retail merchandising category for its ATM wrap and illuminated canopy redesign.

“We are extremely proud to receive recognition for our marketing efforts,” said Dani Gomez, Business Development and Community Relations Marketing Manager.

“We’ve committed ourselves to improving our Hispanic marketing by translating our in-branch marketing materials, upgrading our Spanish-language website, and expanding on our Hispanic digital and traditional media advertisements,” said Gomez. “We’ve also partnered with organizations to embrace the Hispanic community through participation and sponsorship of numerous local events. Through our efforts, we increased our direct membership by 15.71% from last year and grew our Hispanic market share by 5%.”
