Tucson Metro Chamber recently issues the following announcement.

TOPIC: Business Resiliency, Today Is A Bridge to Tomorrow

 SPEAKER: Ellen Kirton - Pima Community College Small Business Development Center

Ellen will offer guidance to those businesses who are trying to absorb all of the information that is out there. If we get them engaged in a process (that we at the SBDC will help) in moving forward NOW, they will have a better opportunity to come out of this with a plan to move forward and do so successfully.

Ellen Kirton, Center Director: Ellen Kirton spent 35 years in the banking industry, with her last position as a Senior Vice President and Business Banking Manager at Bank One/Chase. Currently, she is at Pima Community College, Small Business Development Center as its Director. Working to assist small business owners allows her to use her experience to help them grow profitably, get access to capital, etc. Concurrently, she is a co-owner of EffortlessHR, an Internet-based company. 

Her community service includes both professional organizations and non-profits. She is a past President of NAWBO, was the first female President for the Catalina Council of Boy Scouts. She also serves on the Ambassador Board of Make a Wish as well as being Vice President of the Board for the So. AZ. Children’s Advocacy Center. She is the author of “Cinderella is Still Dancing” and is a public speaker. She was recently honored as the Community Service Champion at Women of Influence. 

She was chosen as the “State Star” for Arizona for the AZ Small Business Development Centers and subsequently recognized at the ASBDC National Conference in San Francisco. In addition, she was given a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Minority and Small Business Alliance.
