Arizona State Representative Rachel (Jones) Keshel has questioned claims regarding the Cienega High School math department’s attire, posting a series of statements on social media about the matter.

On November 1, 2025, Keshel addressed Vail Unified School District directly, writing, “I want to see the evidence that the Cienega High School math department wore the same shirts last year @vailschools. Post the picture. I’ll wait.”

Later that day, she referenced her personal connection to the school and added, “My daughter graduated from Cienega last year and doesn’t remember the math teachers wearing these shirts.” The post included a link to an image.

Continuing her inquiry into documentation, Keshel posted on November 2: “Please send the original email, dated October 31, 2024 containing the supposed 2024 photo, or the actual photo with metadata to my legislative email – RKeshel@azleg.gov If it checks out I’ll make sure everyone who interacted with my timeline has the correct story and I may even…”

Rachel (Jones) Keshel is a Republican elected in 2023 to represent Arizona’s 17th House District in place of Jennifer Pawlik.
