Arizona State Representative Rachel (Jones) Keshel, a Republican elected in 2023 to represent the state’s 17th House District, posted a series of statements on her social media account addressing recent political developments and expressing concerns about party dynamics.
On January 3, 2026, Keshel posted: “Ding dong the dictator is DONE!!!”
Later that day, she continued her commentary by stating: “I’m hearing whisperings that Democrat lite ‘Republican’ candidates are slithering their way into the good graces of Turning Point. Let me make myself very clear to the young conservatives working for TP: The one thing that will never change about slimy politicians is that they” (January 3, 2026).
In a subsequent post clarifying her earlier remarks, Keshel wrote: “For those confused about my post, I’m talking about outing the fake conservative candidates working overtime to get in TP’s good graces. Not the folks they’re trying to dupe. This is about RINO hunting.” (January 3, 2026).
Keshel’s comments reference ongoing debates within the Republican Party over ideological purity and candidate selection. The term “RINO,” or “Republican In Name Only,” has often been used within party circles to criticize members perceived as insufficiently conservative or aligned with opposing viewpoints.
Jones was elected to the Arizona State House in 2023 after replacing former representative Jennifer Pawlik. She represents Arizona’s 17th House District and has positioned herself as an advocate for conservative principles.
