There were 79,399 Hispanic or Latino students enrolled in Pima County schools in the 2024-25 school year, a 9% decrease from the 87,246 Hispanic or Latino students in the previous school year, according to the Arizona Department of Education.

Data showed that Pima County welcomed 141,176 students at the time. Among them, Hispanic or Latino students made up 56.2% of the student body making them the most represented ethnicity in the county.

Among the 281 schools in Pima County, Sunnyside High School recorded the highest enrollment of Hispanic or Latino students in the 2024-25 school year, with a total of 2,096 students, making up 93% of the school’s total student body.

Arizona’s public schools ranked 49th in the country, according to a WalletHub study, with low marks for class size, performance, funding, safety, and teacher qualifications.

Some data provided by the Arizona Department of Education may be incomplete due to the Family and Educational Rights and Privacy Act.
