Enrollment analysis: Asian students comprised 2.1% of Pima County’s student body in 2025-26 school year

There were 2,901 Asian students enrolled in Pima County schools in the 2025-26 school year, a 1.4% decrease from the 2,942 Asian students in the previous school year, according to the Arizona Department of Education.

Data showed that Pima County enrolled 139,176 students at the time. Among them, Asian students made up 2.1% of the student body making them the second least represented ethnicity in the county.

Among the 293 schools in Pima County, BASIS Oro Valley recorded the highest enrollment of Asian students in the 2025-26 school year, with 201 students making up 36.9% of the school’s total enrollment.

Arizona ranks dead last in educational success among U.S. states, according to World Population Review, which graded states based on K–12 performance, funding, higher education, and safety.

Some data provided by the Arizona Department of Education may be incomplete due to the Family and Educational Rights and Privacy Act.
