Congressman Juan Ciscomani of Arizona’s 6th District has sent a letter to Rodney Scott, Commissioner for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), addressing local priorities for border security projects in southeastern Arizona. The letter follows the recent passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), which allocated over $64 billion to CBP for border security efforts.
Ciscomani stated in his letter: “While at home in Arizona’s Sixth Congressional District this month, my staff and I have had the opportunity to visit with local U.S. Customs and Border Protection leadership to discuss the highest local priority needs. As a result of these conversations, I write today to urge your agency to fund critical projects in Arizona, which I believe will make our state and nation stronger and the border more secure.”
The letter outlines what Ciscomani described as urgent needs for CBP operations along Arizona’s southern border.
Juan Ciscomani is currently serving as the representative for Arizona’s 6th district in Congress, having succeeded Ann Kirkpatrick in 2023. He won his seat by defeating Kirsten Engel in both the 2022 and 2024 general elections.
