Last week, U.S. Congressman Juan Ciscomani (AZ-06) hosted a bipartisan group of lawmakers from the Problem Solvers Caucus in southern Arizona. The delegation included co-chairs Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA-01), Tom Suozzi (D-NY-3), and members Jimmy Panetta (D-CA-19), Chuck Edwards (R-NC-11), and Jim Costa (D-CA-21).
The visit featured meetings with representatives from the National Border Patrol Council, ranching and local law enforcement stakeholders. The group also met with leadership from the U.S. Border Patrol Tucson Sector and attended a briefing at the Southwest Border Intelligence Center. In Nogales, they toured a warehouse with trade and commerce stakeholders, received a briefing and tour of the Nogales Port of Entry by Office of Field Operations officers, participated in a border wall line tour with Border Patrol agents, and met with National Immigration Forum stakeholders.
“It was my honor to welcome this group of effective legislators to my home of southern Arizona. This trip was important for us to see the progress made at the southern border firsthand and allows us to return to Washington with insightful information from the folks on the ground,” Congressman Ciscomani said. “We’ve been able to make great strides on border security since January, and I’m hopeful there will be an opening to find a solution the challenges before us.”
Congressman Ciscomani also held a media availability in Tucson before traveling to Nogales for additional events.
Juan Ciscomani is currently serving as U.S. Representative for Arizona’s 6th district after replacing Ann Kirkpatrick in 2023. He won his seat by defeating Kirsten Engel in both 2022 and 2024 general elections.
